EUROPE 2024, one more year.

We are presenting the EUROPA International Photo Circuit for another year and it is already four years old, but as we have already mentioned on other occasions, four years may seem short for an international event of this magnitude, but our case is somewhat exceptional, since behind these four years there is much more history than it seems.

First of all, the EUROPA Circuit takes the name and, in fact, continues the history of the old Biennals Europa born in 1973 and which, after ten editions, were no longer held in 1993. Later, in 2012, we recovered this salon in an annual format and, for this reason, we now present the XXIV EUROPA International Photography Salon 2025.

With the history of this show, four years ago, in 2022, we created this homonymous circuit, bringing together other salons that had been held years ago and for various circumstances had been diluted and disappeared.

Since it was important for us, in addition to photography, the history of small photographic groups in our regions that had made possible the small miracle of tirelessly convening salons for many years that had great recognition at a national and state level, we proposed to join forces and revive those historic salons in a renewed format and scope.

And so we find the oldest, the Medalla Puigcerver of Alforja of which we now present the LXIII edition that was born in 1955 together with the Agrupació Fotogràfica d’Alforja that promoted it for many years.

A similar case is the Saló Vila de Vimbodí born in 1969 under the auspices of the Foment Parroquial de Cultura and of which we now present the XXXIX International Salon of Photography Vila de Vimbodí.

The youngest salon is the IV International Photographic Salon CERAP of Riudoms but not because it is younger is it exempt from a long photographic history behind it since the Center d’Estudis Riudomencs Arnau de Palomar had a photographic group since the 80s of the last century and, even now, it calls for a photography scholarship award within the Arnau de Palomar art and literature awards.

All this photographic history can be said to have been condensed in the Europa Circuit that we now present and photographers from all over the world, once again have trusted us and so, in this edition we have received 3455 works from 241 photographers from 43 states around the world to whom we must thank for their participation.

A special thanks must also be given to the juries who have viewed all these photographs and issued the corresponding verdicts and who this year were from Argentina, France, Italy, Spain and Catalonia. Without their work the circuit could not exist either.

For all this, we dare to predict that we will meet again next year with the EUROPA 2025 International Photo Circuit.
